Summer is a wedding season, and what better way to work off those extra calories from the wedding dinner than on the dance floor?! If you are thinking of signing up for a dance class - great! But what if the wedding is this weekend, and you've got two left feet?
Foxy to the rescue! Foxy is a partner dance everybody should know. It is easy. It can be done to any music. And it is easy! So if you have two or three days left before your next public dancing experience, call the closest dance studio and book a lesson. One lesson is all you will need.
Technically, a slow dance, Foxy can be sped up, or slowed down, depending on the speed of the music. And even though it uses dance patterns similar to those in Foxtrot, there is no need to keep exact timing. So if you feel like stopping to think in the middle of the move (for those leaders who are not 100% sure of what they are doing quite yet), it does not ruin the dance, and does not make your partner mad at you for the rest of the night!
Should you learn other dances as well, if you've got time before the big event? Absolutely! The more you know, the more possibilities you have, the higher your confidence level, and the chances of you actually having fun! But Foxy is a good starting point, and a good fall-back, in case you get nervous and forget which one is your right foot and which is your left!
